Jamun is an evergreen tropical tree which is native to India and its bordering countries like Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Phillippines and Indonesia. The Scientific Name of Jamun is Syzygiu Cumini and its Family Name is Myrtaceae. The most common variety of jamun is often oblong and has a deep purple to bluish colour. Jamun fruit is delicious. It has a very unique taste, colour and flavour. The pulp of the fruit is grey or pink and has a seed in the centre.
